Artists consignments

All That Music & Video has always maintained it’s obligation to the public it serves. The promotion and stocking of local artists and talent has been a tradition. Over the years however, we have noticed that a large number of local consignment CD’s get forgotten or abandoned by their consignees. ATMV has always maintained a commitment to local artists but will now adapt to a more practical, economical, and realistic solution. Due to space constraints and the increased time required to handle non-performing inventory, we must implement the following new guidelines when accepting product from local artists.

Guidelines

• A limit of 5 units of any one item will be accepted initially for resale. If the product demonstrates proven sales activity, ATM will contact you immediately for a reorder.• A traditional in-store-play promotional copy will not be considered for settlement. If appropriate, please request your promotional copy for return.

• After 90 days and an evaluation of the sales activity on your item, ATM will make a decision for continued shelf space. (Every CD has a sales cycle; our experience has shown 90 days is a fair and reasonable period of time to evaluate sales worthiness.)

• If you have not contacted ATM within those 90 days, we will send you a status report and instructions to settle-out the consignment.

• ATM will pay out earnings only at the end of the 90-day period when sales activity is less than 5 units. Immediate payment can be made only if and when all initial consignment product is sold out. Likewise, ATM will settle and pay out your earnings before any subsequent consignment reorder.• ATM will not be liable for any product after 30-days from the date of our settle-out notice. It is your responsibility to supply us with current and accurate contact information. After this 30-day period, remaining product will be considered abandoned and may be eligible for promotional giveaway.

• Because of changing legal or market conditions, CD-R (homemade CD’s) and cassettes are no longer accepted for resale.

ATMV reserves the right to consider each consignment agreement on a case-by-case basis.

Remember the following elements are key to a successful CD release: effective marketing, airplay to drive demand, and a distribution pipeline. All are essential in guaranteeing significant sales and profits. Do your part and we’ll do ours. The marketplace decides the rest.

We hope that you will appreciate our improved policy, which will help us with space limitations and remedy the vague accountability for consignment product in the past.
